Identify the functional surfaces
Shafts, pins and bushings can look similar while having different assembly and operating requirements. Clearly identify mating diameters, bearing surfaces, locating features and threads in the drawing. We review custom part enquiries against current documentation.
Length, diameter and workholding
Long, slender sections, deep bores and back-working operations affect workholding and tool access. We compare Swiss-type and CNC turning options for the part geometry. Where grooves, radial holes or wrench flats are required, their positional relationships are included in the production plan.
Inspection and delivery scope
In addition to critical dimensions, geometric tolerances and surface requirements, state the prototype or batch quantities. Specify any additional heat treatment, grinding or coating requirements separately; they are not automatically included in the standard CNC machining scope.
